Waco International was founded in Johannesburg in 1952. Since then the company has developed into an international conglomerate, with operations on 4 continents, in 11 countries, at over 100 locations.
Waco International has had a presence in Australia since 1984. In 1992, it acquired GKN Kwikform, the scaffolding assets of GKN Australia, creating the company that today operates as Waco Kwikform Ltd.
In 2005, Waco Kwikform entered the New Zealand market, acquiring the scaffolding and shoring business of Australasian Pacific Ltd, based in Auckland.
Further expansion into New Zealand occurred in 2012, with the acquisition of United Scaffolding on the South Island. Established in 1972, United Scaffolding had grown from humble beginnings in Dunedin to a business with five branches and almost 100 staff.
To both companies, Waco brought significant operational expertise and a substantial equipment base. When combined with the local understanding and proven experience of APL and United, Waco Kwikform quickly established itself as a leading supplier of scaffolding and formwork to the New Zealand construction industry.
Today, Waco Kwikform services clients in twenty-two branch locations across Australia and New Zealand. The company also has a network of regional distributors, which enables both the timely supply and wide distribution of our scaffolding products and services.
Our modular scaffold systems Kwikstage, Wedgelok and Milsystem are brand leaders that have helped shape today’s scaffold industry.
Our opinion is sought by, and we work closely with, organisations like Standards Australia and various state regulatory authorities in reviewing and shaping the standards by which our industry operates both today and into the future.
