As part of their Campus Transformation and Renewal Programme, the University of Canterbury’s Commerce Building is being transformed into a revamped, purpose-built space, designed for contemporary teaching and learning.
United Scaffolding is providing essential height access, formwork and propping services to assist with earthquake remediation, strengthening and refurbishment of the building. Works include demolition of concrete panel facades, replacement of damaged concrete structural components, basement column thickening and new façade/cladding.
This is a multi-discipline site utilising kwikstage/tube & clip/mobile scaffolds, rack and pinion hoists, shore-loading/propping, rigging and formwork. Work on the project will continue into 2017.
